Hi, Two years ago, I won a frequent-shopper drawing from my supermarket (Harris Teeter). The prize was a painting by Thomas Kinkade, who has given new meaning to the term "mass-produced art" (aka "The Painter of Light") valued at approximately $1200. Although the painting itself isn't exactly to my taste, I didn't want to turn down $1200 worth of anything, so I accepted the prize and dutifully reported it on my taxes. I sent the painting ("Pools of Serenity") to my parents, thinking they might like it. Apparently I inherited my sense of aesthetic from them, because they don't like it either, and its been leaning in the corner of their guest bedroom since then. I was home visiting for the weekend, and they gave it back to me to try and sell. The painting itself is 24" x 30" on canvas, framed, and in a limited edition of around 5000. It also comes with a certificate of authenticity. I know next to nothing about art, and even less about selling it. I considered ebay... a lot of Kinkade stuff is listed there... but these are mostly paper prints or other reproductions, and there was very little bidding on the items over $1000. According to thomaskinkade, the exact same painting can be had new for around $1300. I'd like to get at least $1000. I've considered trying to contact a local Kinkade re-seller, but I suspect they will only buy direct from the publisher. For More You Can Check: product design video
